Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Impact Resistant Glass? Impact resistant glass is made by taking 2 pieces of glass and sandwiching a plastic film in between. It is very similar to the windshield in your car. At impact, the glass breaks but does not evacuate the window frame, leaving the room secure.
- Will my home be "Hurricane Proof"? There is no such thing as "Hurricane Proof". Our service helps to make your home as Hurricane resistant as possible. We use only the highest quality products, and assist you in selecting the appropriate solution for your application.
- Which is better: New Windows and Doors or Shutters? It all depends on the situation. We have learned that each opening in each house is in and of itself, unique. Our motto is "when you've seen one home... you've seen one home". We like to take the time to explain the options for each opening in your home and show you the pro’s and con’s of each.
- Some companies make the window smaller and slide it into the opening? We, wholeheartedly, disagree with this method of replacement. It completely changes the anchoring of the unit and reduces the ability to keep water out. Many companies use the “smaller window” method to cut costs in interior and exterior finishing.
- How much does it cost? This will be spelled out for you once the best-fit product is selected. There are no secrets or hidden fees. You will be able to thoroughly examine everything that we do.
- Why JMO? Our team has over 50 years combined experience in the window and door business. We will spend the time with you necessary for you to become completely comfortable with the solutions that you pick. We guide you through with education about the product and method of installation.
- Do you have your own "in-house" installers? We have found that the best installation crews are independently owned. We used to have them, but once they were trained and became quite good, they would break off on their own. We have, over the years, developed strong relationships with the best installers. We pay them well, and on time. And they, in return, work very hard for us. Plus, our Quality Control Process of inspecting every single unit before the installers leave the job ensures that the work is performed to the highest of standards. You get a detailed written report and walkthrough before you pay us the final payment.
